On April 26, GCL will hold its annual Conference Logistics & Supply Chain Performance April 2023.
This year's theme will be Becoming More Sustainable Through Your Supply Chain.

Following discussions at COP27 and COP15 held in Quebec but also to mark Earth Day on April 22, we are keen to keep the dialogue open on these major sustainability issues.

The conference will encompass all aspects of the supply chain.
The goal will be to share best practices for a more sustainable supply chain in the future.
Each speaker will talk about concrete strategic projects that aim to reduce environmental impact and minimize negative societal impacts.

8:30am - 9:30am: From supplier to consumer: logistics innovation for Quebecers

Billy Morneau, Senior Director, Supply Chain and Distribution, Familiprix.
Maude Gagné, Logistics Project Manager, Familiprix.

Familiprix distributes to a network of 425 pharmacies from its two distribution centers located in Quebec City. The company is constantly striving to improve and relies on innovation and sustainability in the integration of its supply chain. Discover the actions in place that allow Familiprix to serve the Quebec population on a daily basis. Billy Morneau, Senior Director of Supply Chain and Distribution, and Maude Gagné, Logistics Project Manager, will take the floor to share with you the many logistics projects underway at the company, including the electrification of transportation.

From the warehouse to the final consumer's door, via the stores, a company's supply chain is complex and difficult to reorganize. Decarbonizing it can therefore seem like a real headache and a financial drain. But by leveraging innovations that are becoming more democratic, innovative urban projects like Colibri, and being open to reorganizing its operations, logistics can become cleaner, but also more fluid, agile and resilient.

1:30-2:30: How to implement innovative tools to ensure a better resource management ?

2:30 - 3:30 pm: Foreign workers, building a sustainable strategy in response to the labor shortage.

Jérôme Côté, Vice-President Operations, Beaudry Group.

In a context of labour shortage that will intensify in the coming years, how to strategically plan for human resources needs.
Groupe Beaudry will present a case study of the different steps in the process of welcoming foreign workers.  The recruitment of foreign workers is now an integral part of their global strategy, established for the next 10 years. Jérôme Côté, Vice-President Operations will share tips and tricks, costs and benefits, available support and advice to manage the transition and integration into your corporate culture.

3:30 - 4:30 p.m.: From fields to consumers, towards a more responsible supply.

The strategy implemented in terms of sustainable supply is based on 3 major pillars:

to comply with responsible industrial use in terms of quantity and quality ;
protecting biodiversity and ensuring respect for the rights of the women and men involved in the supply chain
sharing the benefits of biodiversity in a fair and equitable manner, by preserving the know-how of local communities and promoting joint economic, social, scientific and cultural development.

Annie Julien will present some of the innovative solutions implemented at Yves Rocher that enable them to achieve their objectives.
